Facebook vs Twitter: A Tale of Two Social Networks

People say that facebook is for connecting with the people you went to school with and Twitter is for people you wished you had gone to school with. While Facebook is a multi-purpose social networking platform, allowing users to chat, post photos and notes, and play games, Twitter is built around the posting of short 140 character messages , or “tweets.”

Facebook is way more used than Twitter in Tunisia due to many reasons. Firstly, Facebook is easier to use than Twitter. Secondly Facebook users can message instantly while chat is not possible on Twitter. Thirdly, on Facebook, your post length is unlimited whereas on Twitter it is restricted. Finally, probably the main reason for which Tunisians like Facebook more is the games they could play online. Twitter on the other hand has no games available. One more important fact about Facebook is that it contributed in the Tunisian Revolution more than any other social network.

Today Facebook is keeping it up with 1.23 billion of users so far. How could twitter beat that?
